Company Overview

Eltel–UK. Ltd is a long time ambition of both Directors Michael and Adam Ritchie
● We have both worked in the industry for over 13 years, and gained a vast amount of knowledge.
● We are both very committed to anything we do, which we feel is essential in all working practices.
● We are keen to give advice to people in our employ or supervision.
● We have always worked well together with each other’s interest in mind.
● We are both aware of the need to keep running costs to a minimum, not only during the early years but throughout the lifetime of our company.
● We are selective over working practices and both have very good reputations throughout the industry.
● We have selected our preferred clients and will pursue ongoing contract work
● We are both married with young families and have very supportive wives.
● We recognize the need for a clean crisp company image.
● We are also aware that best practices are to keep within the law.
● We are currently fitting out our office in swainby.
● We understand that early expansion often leads to business failure, therefore will recruit operatives accordingly.
● We recognize the need to be environmentally friendly, and have an environmental policy in place.

Company Main Industry and Objectives

Quality

Eltel-UK. Ltd, have absolute zero tolerance to bad workmanship; our main role is to provide a quality service to the utility industry. We will undergo contract work providing mainly Telecom and Electric service to both residential and industrial customers. Our work will be part of mainstream contracts working with nationally recognized clients such as Fujitsu; Enterprise plc, Morrison utility Services, Skanska, Virgin media and Carillion.

Training and Development

Eltel-UK. Ltd, will actively promote training to all personnel, by taking advantage of government aided training facilities such as learning and skills council, as well as recognizing additional training requirements for individual personnel. We will also actively promote the benefits of long term employment by providing employees with a training goal, and achievement tiered bonus scheme. We will ensure all personnel are trained in all aspects of our works.

Environment

Eltel-UK. Ltd, will provide evidence to governing bodies, Environment Agency, and its clients of its waste management and transfer facilities, We will actively promote the need to be environmentally friendly in all of our practices and will use only low emission machinery as well as maintaining plant and small tools regularly/periodically. All relevant records will be kept in our main central depot.

Safety

Eltel-UK. Ltd, will actively promote health and safety at work and will provide all personnel with correct and sufficient personal protective equipment to current E. U standards.

Health and Safety Policy

The health, safety and welfare of employees is of prime importance to ELTEL-UK. Ltd and is essential to the efficient operation of its undertaking.
The responsibility of safety at work rests upon all sectors of management. ELTEL-UK. Ltd, will ensure that this policy is pursued through the organizations and will take all reasonable practicable precautions to ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of its employees by providing:-

● A safe working environment by the design, construction, operation and maintenance of all plant, equipment and facilities. Safe systems of work. Adequate information, instruction, training and supervision.
● Control of situations likely to cause injury or damage to property and/or equipment.
● Effective facilities for the treatment of injuries that occur at work.
● Effective fire prevention and fire control procedures.
● Ensure that there exists, Adequate facilities for consultation between management and employee representatives.
● The making of such tests, examinations, samples and records as are necessary to monitor the working environment.

All employees of the company agree, as a term of their contract of employment, to comply with their individual duties under section 7 & 8 of the health and safety at work act 1974. Regulation 12 of the management of health and safety at work regulations 1999, and generally co-operate with their employer so as to enable them to carry out their health and safety duties towards them, failure to comply with health and safety duties, regulations, procedures and work rules on the part of the employee, can lead to dismissal from employment. In the case of serious or repeated breaches, such dismissal may be instant and without prior warning.
The overall responsibility for health, safety and welfare of the company and its personnel is vested in the managing director.

Eltel-UK. Ltd will give full backing to this policy and to the nominated safety manager (whose function it shall be to monitor and operate the policy), and will support all those who endeavor to carry it out.

Eltel-UK. Ltd wishes to strongly emphasize, however, that the whole concept of health and safety at work is best served by the increased awareness of individual personnel and personal readiness to react appropriately to whatever situation arises.

Risk Assessment

To assist in the provision of a safe system of work and safe environment in which to work, and to meet its obligations under the management of health and safety at work regulations 1999.
ELTEL-UK. Ltd will carry out regular risk assessments on their operations. Copies of these risk assessments will be kept in the Code of Practice and made available for all employees given reasonable notice.
Where work has been sub-contracted to ELTEL-UK. Ltd. We will obtain copies of the main contractor / principal contractor risk assessment and adhere to any safety  control measures in addition to those started in our  own risk assessments.
Specific risk assessments will be carried out where identified risks are not fully covered by the generic risk assessment in the Code of Practice, and will be carried out by a competent person using FORM HSE 007
All identified hazards will be assessed for control measures, in the following order:

  1. Try a safer option
  2. Prevent access to the hazard
  3. Reduce exposure to the hazard
  4. Issue personal protective Equipment
  5. Provide suitable welfare facilities

All risk assessments will be carried out with full regard to the HSE Guide, ‘5 Steps To Risk Assessment’, included in the Code of Practice.
